Reposting a piece originally written in April 2012. Since I was just a novice blogger then many of those currently reading my blog probably have not seen it before…here's the link:

Hope you enjoy it!

    1. Donna, it is cool that we can look back on these old posts. I think we found each other through either BlogUpp or just searching around on Blogger, but I am so glad we found each other too! For over two years now, we've been reading each other's blogs! :)

  3. Jersey... that post about music was so beautiful♡ ... I truly believe that music can change your life completely... I have seen this too.

What you write about your mom is so touching.. so sad. I too hope she has the freedom and happiness that eluded her here.

I hope my two daughters remember that I although I'm not always the best mom... I do love them and want better for them then I had.

Thank you so much for the very kind comment on my blog... I greatly appreciate it ♥

    1. Thank you so much, Launna! It took me many years and distance to really begin to understand what my mother had to go through every day of her life. If she had been sane, with her talents, she could have been a contender. From my perspective, it often takes years for children to understand their parents no matter what the circumstances. I truly hope your daughters will think of you with love and kindness, and I believe they will!

    1. Hi Julia,
I’ve been out of state in New Jersey (I live in Maryland now) visiting family and trying to find a reliable contractor to make repairs on my late mother’s house there (one contractor flaked out after numerous promises so still working on that).

Hope you had a fantastic Fourth of July! I will be catching up with my fav blogs and posting again soon. Hugs to you, too! :)

    1. Thank you so much, Rob-Bear. Yes, it was a very difficult childhood for me and for my siblings. My mother’s illness caused a major break in our home life that was never really reconciled. Thinking back on it now, though, I believe it was even more difficult for my mother, in and out of hospitals and then the nursing home, living in her own world detached from reality. I sincerely appreciate your kind words. Bear Hugs to you, too!
