You may be wondering...How on earth are those two dogs typing on a keyboard? Well, we are exceptionally smart canines! We have mastered the opposable thumb principle. And what's better than two hands on a keyboard? Four paws, of course!
But shush, don't tell our mom we can do this! She's been wondering how those doggy treat bags get opened even though the cabinet door is closed. When she says, "How did these treats get opened? Did you get into the cabinet?" We just look up wagging our tails in amazement with cute expressions of puzzlement. "How could that happen? Oh, we are just as shocked as you are! And we'd just love one of those peanut butter cookies please."
So while JerseyLil watches paint dry and puts up new shelves in her closet, we've got some interesting tidbits to share. Bring all your dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rodents, any and all pets over to the computer. Think your pets can't read, well think again, we've been foolin' you all these years! We'll share with the human moms and dads too.
January Events to Bark About
Adopt a Rescued Bird Month
Just like rescued dogs and cats, our rescued feathered friends need good forever homes.
Pet Education: Adopt a Rescued Bird Month
Walk Your Pet Month
Four paws up on this, we love walks! Great exercise for two-leggers and four-leggers. Good luck walking the cat though. :)
National Train Your Dog (and maybe your Cat too) Month
Both of us are basically well trained (most of the time anyway!), and we know our basic Sit, Down, Stay commands. We're a bit rusty (well, rusty isn't what our mom calls it!) on our Coming When Called and Walking Without Pulling commands, so it may be time to dig up a few new tips. Good link to pass along to your humans with info on training, playing with toys, socialization, commands, tricks, and more:
Train Your Dog Month Tips
We don't want our cat friends to be left out, so we sniffed around and found information on cat training. (Yeah, cats, if we've gotta be trained, you're getting trained too!)
Association of Pet Dog Trainers Going to the Cats!
January 14 is National Dress Up Your Pet Day
OK, we are Not dressing up LOL! But some of our friends are Party Animals and don't mind dressing up to amuse their humans. We "pinched" some funny pics of animals in costumes from our blog friend, Robert of Mulled Madness.and Mulled Vine. (Thanks for sharing, Robert!) Others we found while sniffing around the Internet. We had fun adding the captions.

So cute JerseyLil ...love the pics.
ReplyDeleteThanks Angie. Delighted you love the pics! :)
DeleteWhat a fun post. Dogs can be pretty good bloggers too. Whoda thunk it?
ReplyDeleteThanks Jon. Yes, dogs can be pretty good bloggers too. I had fun...excuse me, my dogs had fun with this post! :)
DeleteYoga Pug and Winnie the Pup take the cake...so cute! I'm going to keep your post a secret from my GSPs, Simon and Lilly...don't want to give them any ideas!
ReplyDeleteYoda Pug and Winnie the Pup are so cute, I agree. Your Simon and Lily just might get ideas from my Roscoe and Coco LOL! Thanks Kris! :)
DeleteI forgot to ask, at what age did you teach Roscoe and Coco to type? :-P
DeleteOh, those smart dogs just taught themselves. I suspect it started after successfully opening the dog food cabinet by themselves LOL! Roscoe is 13 now with some arthritis so Coco (being younger at age 9) does most of the typing. But Roscoe, being the bossy type who thinks he runs the household (oops, maybe he does LOL!) directs. Coco listens then types what she wants (she’s such a girl LOL!). :)
DeleteSo adorable!! Thanks for the smile, I needed that!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad Roscoe and Coco and their Party Animals friends made you smile! Thanks Michelle! :)
DeleteRoscoe or Coco, those dogs look so funny in the pictures. I'd love to see what you would dress us in, given the chance, ha ha ha. I've never heard of cat's being trained, I didn't think it was possible, it's amazing.
ReplyDeleteRoscoe, you and Coco did a pretty good job on this post today,if Jerseylil finds out she'll have you doing all the typing here so be careful and I'll see you later ha ha ha.
Hi Rum-Punch Drunk, Roscoe and Coco here. Oh, given the chance we’d dress up humans as big bags of dog food and comfy beds to curl up in! But don’t ask the cats, they’d probably pick scratching posts ha ha! Yes, cats can be trained too...well sort of...! Thanks for your encouragement and we’ll be posting again. But first we need doggy treats, big chewy ones! :)
DeleteDoes this mean your blog has gone to the dogs? :)
ReplyDeleteLOL Robert! Yes, this blog has happily gone to the dogs! Roscoe and Coco say thanks and four paws up for sharing some animals pics from your blog. :)
DeleteLOL!
DeleteI love this. So clever. These two are good writers, I think you should let them guest blog more ofter!
ReplyDeleteThanks CrazyMama! Roscoe and Coco are pawfectly delighted that you loved it! They really enjoyed taking over my blog (maybe a little too much LOL!) and will definitely be guest blogging more often. :)
DeleteYay!! I just took a better look, some of those pictures are really great). You are a great blogger. So, are you thinking about the convention at all?
DeleteYou are such a great confidence booster! :) I need to go to BlogHer and check out the details of that blogging conference again. Thanks!
Deletedid you tag all those photos? i'm really not a confidence builder, I just tell the truth. email what you think about the conference
DeleteWhat a couple of cuties, and so witty and informative to boot! What an inspiration they must be to all their animal friends (and that includes me) out here in cyberland.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marty! They are definitely a couple of cuties and rascals too! Always very entertaining to me and their animal friends. Roscoe and Coco are wagging their tails in appreciation for your comment and they say your aphorisms are a pawfect inspiration to them too! :)
Deleteahahaha these images are so funny!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ana! :) My dogs are always entertaining!
DeleteWhat a fantastic post! We have a dog and she rules, if you know what I mean. In fact I'd like to make her a T-shirt saying 'The Boss'. But really pets are wonderful and add so much to our lives. Fabulous work.
ReplyDeleteThanks Neil! My dogs definitely rule too. They are "The Boss" (love the T-shirt idea!). Yes, pets are wonderful indeed and they do add so much to our lives. :)

ReplyDeleteThank you Christine! Glad my post made you smile! :) Hope you'll stop by again.

DeleteHey, did you know there's a show now called, "Dog With A Blog?"
ReplyDeleteThere is?! Had no idea!! So I just Googled it and I see it’s on the Disney channel. I had the idea of dogs blogging over a year ago. Missed my opportunity to pitch it to Disney...LOL!! Thanks CrazyMama! :)
DeleteMy dogs blogged here a year ago March so I’ll be reposting that for St. Patty’s Day. Plus more guest blogging from them!
I didn't think you knew cause it's a new show and it's primarily for kids, but yeh, next time go to Disney with your ideas...they're better than you know!! I don't remember that last year. I'll have to look at it and see if it jogs my foggy memory. And I wanted to tell you something else that I forgot...what's new?
DeleteThanks CrazyMama! I don’t think you’ve ever seen it because it was before we met in the blogosphere. When it was originally posted last year, I had only about half a dozen blog friends then LOL! You’ll see it when I repost it in March...I mean when the dogs repost it LOL!
DeleteOh man, these are so cute! Yoda pug and Winnie the pup are my faves!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mod Mom!! Roscoe and Coco are very partial to Yoda pug and Winnie the pup too, and so am I! :)
