Happy Independence Day, Fourth of July, America!
And to my friends around the globe outside the U.S., Happy Day to you and you are welcome to celebrate with us!

For the Independence Day holiday, I am posting my Red, White, Blue and Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae. All the patriotic colors in delicious splendor! Blueberries, strawberries, and vanilla ice cream drizzled with dark chocolate.

Red, White, Blue and Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae

Directions:

Chill dessert dishes in the fridge. Rinse whole fresh blueberries. Rinse and slice fresh strawberries (lengthwise). Suggest sprinkling a little sugar (or sugar substitute) over the sliced strawberries, just enough to make them glisten and remove some of the tartness.

Place a nice big scoop of vanilla ice cream in the bottom of the chilled dish. Add a layer of sliced strawberries and drizzle with chocolate sauce (I like the dark chocolate sauce). Then another big scoop of vanilla ice cream, a layer of blueberries, and drizzle with chocolate sauce. Top with whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce, and garnish with a whole strawberry.

Delicious ice cream sundae for the 4th of July with all the patriotic red, white and blue colors, fresh fruit in season, and of course, chocolate! This is my own creation; it’s very simple and makes a nice presentation for a summer holiday table.

Enjoy!

Red, White, Blue and Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae

A special Salute and Thank You to all the guys and the gals who have served and are serving our country!

I made this ice cream sundae for the Memorial Day holiday with all the patriotic colors, fruit in season and, of course, chocolate! Delicious and refreshing on a hot day after a barbeque.

Directions:

Chill dessert dishes. Use whole fresh blueberries, and sliced fresh strawberries. Suggest sprinkling a little sugar (or sugar substitute) over the sliced strawberries, just enough to make them glisten and remove some of the tartness.

Put a nice big scoop of vanilla ice cream in the bottom of the chilled dish. Add a layer of sliced strawberries and drizzle with chocolate sauce (I like the dark chocolate sauce). Then another big scoop of vanilla ice cream, a layer of blueberries, and drizzle with chocolate sauce. Top with whipped cream, drizzle of chocolate sauce, and garnish with a whole strawberry. Enjoy!
